Support individuals and businesses in economic recovery by targeting industries and workers most impacted by the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and making it easier to quickly hire qualified talent.
Strategies include subsidized employment opportunities: on-the-job training and transitional jobs to incentivize hiring, career and training services to prepare individuals for jobs, Supportive services to help individuals successfully participate in the program and remove barriers to employment, and workforce readiness services to ensure all participants have the soft skills required to enter a career pathway employment.
Program Goal:
Connect 1,200 individuals to subsidized employment opportunities with a focus on opportunities in high-growth and emerging sectors
70% placed in unsubsidized employment
Target Population:
LA County residents that are unemployed or underemployed due to COVID-19 impacts on the economy
Prioritization of BIPOC (Inclusive of Black, Hispanic, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander, American Indian and Alaska Native), women, public assistance recipients and other low-income persons, and those that reside in communities highly impacted by COVID-19
