AYS provides advanced training and performance opportunities, to help prepare students musicians for careers as professionals. Orchestra members expand their repertoire with classics, contemporary works, world premieres, film music, and chamber ensembles. Career-focused fellowships are available to orchestra members in Orchestra Management, Citizen Musicianship, and composing. The minimum age for auditioning is 15. AYS never charges tuition or audition fees, and orchestra members are paid scholarships in order to provide equitable opportunity.
