UPSIDE Foods is a food technology company that produces "cultivated meat" by growing real meat from animal cells in a controlled environment, rather than raising and slaughtering animals. Founded in 2015 as the world's first cultivated meat company, UPSIDE Foods aims to create a more humane and sustainable meat supply. They received the first-ever "No Questions" Letter from the US FDA for cultivated meat in 2022 and first launched their cultivated chicken to consumers in San Francisco in 2023.
