A sonographer is a highly skilled professional who uses high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) to produce dynamic visual images of the human body. Students completing the Bachelor of Sciences in Diagnostic Medical Sonography may choose between two emphases: General & Vascular or Cardiac.
Students completing either program will join the ranks of distinguished alumni who have graduated from Loma Linda University’s School of Allied Health Professions.
National Credential & Program Accreditation
The LLU Sonography bachelor programs, you may sit for the national boards prior to graduation or after. This LLU program has been fully accredited since October 1985 by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program.

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
- Previously completed courses that will complete the domain requirements of this bachelor’s degree
- GPA of 3.0 or better (a higher GPA is more competitive)
- Eight (8) hours of observation in Medical Sonography (preferably at LLUMC) is required prior to the interview.
