Coding Dogo: 14 Week Coding Bootcamp
About Coding Dojo (online)
Coding Dojo is a global coding education company founded in Silicon Valley by Michael Choi in 2012. It currently has 10 locations in the United States – Silicon Valley, Seattle, Burbank, Dallas, Arlington, Chicago, Tulsa, Orange County, Boise, and East Bay, as well as full-time and part-time online programs.
Its curriculum covers full-stack web development technologies, such as Python, MEAN, LAMP, Ruby on Rails, and iOS. In August 2017, the company decided to drop Ruby on Rails from its curriculum and added Java and C#/ASP.NET Core, instead.
Coding Dojo bootcamp teaches three full stacks in a 14-week program. During the program, students can customize which stack they prefer to learn. Each stack will cover a programming language, database, and framework.
In September 2016, it introduced C# to its Seattle location and then rolled out to other campuses. In May 2017, it added Java to its curriculum and removed Ruby and Rails and Swift to some the locations.
Students are encouraged to allot 50-70 hours of coding per week. An hour lecture is provided each day and the rest of the day is allotted for coding. Belt exams are given to assess what the students have learned. If one failed the exam, retake is allowed.
