The noncredit English as a Second Language (ESL) program offers courses that address reading, writing, grammar, listening, speaking, and general communication skills. The goal of the noncredit ESL Basic Communicative Competence in ESL Certificate of Competency is to provide non-native speakers of English with some basic English language skills and cultural knowledge to enhance their personal, academic, and/or vocational lives. The completion of the ESL Basic Communicative Competence in ESL Certificate of Competency attests to a student's readiness for additional ESL and other college courses.

The Certificate of Specialization is designed to introduce students to the field of AI. This skills-based specialization is intended for those who want to gain specialized knowledge and skills in this rapidly growing field and demonstrate their expertise and credibility as an AI professional. A certificate of specialization in Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a credential that indicates an individual's expertise and specialized knowledge in the field of AI.

The field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly growing, and there are numerous career opportunities available for individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills. Some of the most promising career opportunities in AI include: 

1- AI Engineer: AI engineers are responsible for designing and developing AI-based systems, including machine learning models, natural language processing algorithms, and computer vision systems. 

2- AI Product Manager: AI product managers are responsible for managing the development and launch of AI-based products. They work closely with AI engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to ensure that products meet the needs of customers and are aligned with business goals.

This certificate of accomplishment is designed to assist students in gaining an understanding and appreciation of the history, culture, and experiences of Asian Americans. The certificate provides a solid background for students pursuing any academic field that prepares them for working with the public and/or serving diverse communities, such as ethnic studies, administration of justice, sociology, social work, education, history, political science, psychology, communications, and the health sciences.

Requirements for Certificate of Accomplishment

a) Complete satisfactorily the courses listed for the particular certificate.
b) Complete at least 50% of the required units at Ohlone College.
c) Maintain a 2.0 grade point average.

2. Analyze the social and cultural experiences of Asian American people in the United States.
3. Evaluate the contributions of the African American population to society in the United States.

This certificate prepares students who are looking to expand their advanced accounting foundation knowledge or who are considering taking the CPA exam in the future. The courses in this certificate cover advanced accounting theory which is also a significant portion of the CPA exam. The courses within this certificate, as well as all CSM accounting courses qualify as accounting units to sit for the CPA exam and meet the 150-semester hour requirement for licensure in California. Students interested in medicine, athletic training, physical therapy, chiropractic, nutrition, or other allied health fields are candidates for this program.

The Certificate of Achievement in Semiconductor Processing provides foundational knowledge and skills necessary for safely and efficiently moving wafers through the semiconductor processing stages in a cleanroom work environment. This certificate is open to all students with an interest in learning more about semiconductor processing. Students in the apprenticeship pathway will complete the Certificate of Achievement as a part of the apprenticeship program.

Job opportunities in the semiconductor processing field start at $25-$30 per hour, based on experience and education, and increase as additional coursework is completed and with additional work experience. Opportunities to join the apprenticeship program occur periodically.

The Digital Photography Techniques Program provides opportunities for career preparation by providing courses that meet workforce needs and prepare students for work as a Digital Technician. Digital Technicians utilize digital image process and organization skills including the use of professional software, formatting of both cloud and onsite backup, processing of images and delivering files to clients. Digital Techs are needed in the photography industry and related industries, including graphic design, social media, and advertising.
