Certificate of Competency in Basic Communicative Competence in ESL

The noncredit English as a Second Language (ESL) program offers courses that address reading, writing, grammar, listening, speaking, and general communication skills. The goal of the noncredit ESL Basic Communicative Competence in ESL Certificate of Competency is to provide non-native speakers of English with some basic English language skills and cultural knowledge to enhance their personal, academic, and/or vocational lives. The completion of the ESL Basic Communicative Competence in ESL Certificate of Competency attests to a student's readiness for additional ESL and other college courses.
Requirements for Certificate of Competency
a) Complete all of the courses at Ohlone College.
