Kinesiology is an academic area of study concerned with the art and science of human movement. 

The Esthetician Certificate is designed to prepare students in a career in technical education in skin care. Students will learn professional techniques in plain facials, chemical facials, electrical facials, make up applications, extractions, and hair removal techniques. This certificate requires a total of 22 units. A grade of C or better is required in each course taken. At least one half of the units completed must be taken at Fullerton College.

Program Student Learning Outcomes:

🗸 Practice safety and sanitation, become knowledgeable of plain facials, chemical facials and electrical facials and demonstrate product knowledge.

🗸 Perform client consultations, identify the basic layers of the skin and basic skin diseases and disorders and become familiar with the morphology of the hair.

The Cannabis Management Certificate program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions within the growing canna-business industry. As the industry expands and the demand for employees grows, entry-level employees should understand basic business operations to include retailing, manufacturing, sales, supervision, and supply chain management, as well as social, legal, and economic issues surrounding the industry. A grade of C or better is required in each course taken. This certificate requires 19 units.

The Business Economics Certificate program is designed to explore critical economic concepts relevant to building strong business foundations and effective decision-making skills. Students gain an extensive understanding of labor markets, international trade, lending markets, and currency exchange, as well as competition between companies. Students explore how to make predictions about how prices and quantities will change when market conditions fluctuate and explore different models for pricing, production, and market analysis. This program is designed to help students get an entry-level job as a business analyst, personal financial adviser, financial or budget analyst, sales management and more. As an emerging business leader, the student will be able to start with the core economic tools and can apply them to success in today’s evolving competitive business landscape. A minimum grade of C is required in each course taken. This certificate requires 16-18 units.

The Automotive Maintenance Certificate is designed to provide the student with entry level employment skills needed in the area of automotive maintenance. A student can seek employment in new car dealerships, specialty repair shops, and franchise automotive repair facilities. The program work will develop a student’s understanding of general automotive diagnosing, servicing and repair/replacement of automotive components. This certificate requires a total of 22 units. A grade of C or better is required in each course taken.

🗸 Inspect, identify, and repair vehicle malfunctions following manufacturer specifications and procedures.

🗸 Using a vehicle repair order, explain and record vehicle inspection and repair procedures performed in compliance with automotive industry standards.

🗸 Perform a wide array of vehicle preventative maintenance and service procedures.

The Automotive Fabrication Certificate is designed to provide the student with entry level skills needed to gain employment in the automotive custom and fabrication area. Students will learn techniques of design, manufacturing, fabrication, and repair of automotive related components. A student can seek employment in new car dealerships, specialty repair shops, custom repair or fabrication shops, automotive restoration shops, and franchise automotive repair facilities. This certificate requires a total of 34.5 units. A grade of C or better is required in each course taken.

The Automotive Chassis Certificate is designed to provide the student with entry level employment skills needed in the area of automotive chassis repair. A student can seek employment in new car dealerships, specialty repair shops, and franchise automotive repair facilities with the theory of operation and repair skills addressed in these three required courses. The Automotive Chassis Certificate Program requires a total of 22-24 units of which 20 units are in required courses. A grade of C or better is required in each course taken.

The Supply Chain Management (SCM) Certificate prepares students for a wide variety of positions in industries that employ or rely upon supply chain management systems to execute mission strategies. Our SCM Certificate also helps prepare students that are already on a career path in SCM and are seeking ways to advance their career. Our program covers key roles including procurement, operations, coordination, distribution, inventory management, and channel development. The program also offers students the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the rapidly growing uses of technology and data analysis which are key to the management of global supply chains in general. Common areas of employment or advancement include careers as logistic analysts, production managers, wholesale and retail buyers, cargo and freight agents, production analysts, planning specialists, and clerical roles in expediting and brokerage. A grade of C or better is required in each course taken. This certificate requires 18-21 units.

🗸 Synthesize cross-functional business processes and data to develop comprehensive supply chain management solutions by designing and carrying out procedures to communicate the results in a report or presentation.

Students participating in the Law Enforcement Candidate Scholars’ (LECS) program who wish to obtain a Certificate of Academic Achievement in Law Enforcement must complete the following courses with a minimum grade of "C" or higher. Courses for the Certificate program are applicable toward course requirements for the Criminal Justice major.  

All courses and petitions for substitutions will need to be approved by the Law Enforcement Candidate Scholars’ Program and Criminal Justice Division and will reflect the criteria and learning outcomes of the Law Enforcement Certificate.

The Aging Studies Certificate focuses on the study and application of knowledge about the physical, social, and economic conditions of older people. Aging affects all aspects of human activity, thus the study of aging is multidisciplinary in nature. This certificate helps to prepare students interested in pursuing academic and career pathways in the field of aging. Student who earn the Aging Studies Certificate should consider pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Gerontology, a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Gerontology, or a related field. Career paths many include placements in county councils on aging, area agencies on aging, social services agencies, housing authorities, long-term care, recreation facilities, and many other public and private agencies. A minimum grade of C is required in each course taken. The Aging Studies Certificate requires a total of 16 units.

🗸 Compare and contrast current theory and research in the interdisciplinary field of gerontology and its role in society to assess biological, social, and psychological issues that impact older adults and those who work with and care for them.
