Print and digital graphic design solutions require the designer to be versed in the manipulation of visual imagery, the use of typography as well as the Principles and Elements of design. Entertainment Art students work in a collaborative environment on project-based assignments that revolve around creativity and innovation. Students are taught the skills they will need in order to create amazing artwork using the latest digital tools.  The curriculum centers on the current production techniques used in designing the visual components found in games, apps, feature films and the web. From the fundamentals of 2D visual development through the pipeline for creating a finished 3D piece, students are guided by industry professionals. Entertainment Art students finish their training with portfolios full of intriguing and elaborate digital characters.

- When given a concept design or illustration problem, students will employ proficient problem-solving skills using research, development, ideation, and sequential art.

- When tasked with a character design, students will employ traditional and digital tools to generate an assortment of concept art, including creatures, characters, and costumes in both 2D and 3D.

Once you successfully complete this program, you will be able to:

- Understand fundamental networking technologies, including topologies, Open System Interconnection (OSI), network architecture, simple and complex network operations, and protocols and apply knowledge to case studies relevant to real-life situations.

- Create plans for server deployment and installation and configuration. Set up Active Directory and accounts management and prepare for management, monitoring and maintaining the server’s security and policies. Secure remote access, wireless, and virtual private networks (VPN) against hackers’ attacks.

- Work individually and with groups to enumerate the phases of the security systems development life cycle (SecSDLC) and identify specific threats, and then create specific controls to counter those threats.

The intent of this certificate is to provide graduates with the skills needed to defend networks and information systems against cyber-attacks. It gives students extensive hands-on experience and develops the knowledge and abilities necessary to succeed in the protection of an organization’s data and operations. It is a rigorous program designed to help students master the fundamentals of cybersecurity by applying industry-accepted and emerging practices to solve real-world security problems. Upon completion of the program, students will be able to evaluate security trends, recognize best practices, and understand IT security products and threats. Some career opportunities associated with this degree include security analyst, network systems security administrator, security policy analyst, and more.

This Certificate of Achievement program is designed for students who have limited time or resources to commit to a full AA degree program and wish to concentrate only on interior design classes to prepare for employment in interior design. Students study the elements and principles of design applied to human and cultural needs for residential and commercial spaces while utilizing interior design standards including sustainable design and the American Disabilities Act (ADA). All courses in this program can be applied to the Associate of Arts in Interior Design degree.

In Multimedia, we have an amazing Animation and 3D Design program which is designated for students to examine both 2D and 3D animation principles, as well as story development, modeling, background design, scenic layout, and special effects. Our Faculty all work professionally in the animation and design fields and will help guide you to your career goals. Our 37-unit program is designed to give students skills and training to compete in this creative and high-skill industry. and to transfer to leading animation schools. Students will have an opportunity to work with industry-leading software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Autodesk Maya and DragonFrame.

- Students will be able to apply the elements and principles of design with competent skill and technique with computer-based media.

- Students will be able to present an animation containing the elements of a fully developed narrative or experimental story.

- Students will be able to plan and produce a storyboard and three-part story structure utilizing the principles of sequential art that leads to a fully developed animation using computer software.

The Certificate of Achievement in Music Performance program provides an opportunity for students to acquire focused musical knowledge and skills in instrumental or vocal performance. It is designed for students considering a career as a professional musician, band leader, choir director, and/or private music instructor. Students will study Music Theory and Musicianship (sight singing and ear training), and the Business of Commercial Music. Additional courses will include an individual instrument or voice lessons, as well as ensemble and solo performance experience. (Auditions are required for some Music classes.)

The culinary arts program at LAHC provides an intensive hands-on curriculum that prepares students who complete the first semester classes for entry-level jobs in the food service industry. The curriculum includes a mastery of the fundamentals of cookery, aromatics, food fabrication, product identification and purchasing, and the state-required certification in ServSafe. This program is equivalent to the first semester major requirements of the Associate of Science Degree and Certificate of Achievement in Culinary Arts.
