The Automotive Collision Repair Technology Program is designed to prepare students for entry into one or more of the many service branches of the expanding automotive collision repair and maintenance fields. This program will also meet the needs of those in the adult community interested in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to repair and maintain the appearance and value of their personal vehicles.

Students who complete only the six real estate courses required for the major (Real Estate 115, 116, 117, 210, 212, and 215) are eligible for the Certificate of Achievement.

A major reason for studying the Spanish language is the enrichment of one’s intellectual growth in the context of the rest of the world. In learning Spanish, one also learns about the culture, philosophy, and civilization of another people, thereby broadening understanding of the world. On the practical side, any field of specialization (journalism, medicine, law, business, teaching) is enhanced if one can speak another language. In California, knowledge of a modern language is now required in many jobs that deal with the public such as Civil Service, social work, nursing, and other service-oriented fields.

The Spanish Skills Certificate provides a way for students to verify that they have reached a level of proficiency in the Spanish language.

There are excellent and increasing opportunities for men and women in all areas of the administration of justice field. Education and training is becoming more important for those who seek careers in criminal justice. This program is designed to provide a solid foundation of knowledge that will prepare the student for initial employment, advancement, or transfer to a four-year college or university. 

A Certificate of Achievement in Administration of Justice is awarded for satisfactory completion of courses required for the major. Students wishing to earn a Certificate of Achievement in Administration of Justice should be aware that it might take longer than two years. However, courses are offered on a two-year cycle, and with planning, a student can complete a Certificate of Achievement in a two-year period.

🗸 Reflect critically on developments in criminal justice policy and implementation and the relationship of these policies to the wider political and social environment.

The Screenwriting Certificate of Achievement provides students with skills in screenwriting for narrative films. The Certificate also includes a broad range of elective writing courses on subjects such as documentary film, broadcasting, radio, electronic media, and journalism. Students gain knowledge of professional formats, research methods, story elements, visual grammar, and aesthetic considerations in the course of developing writing skills specific to each format.

With a curriculum that spans writing for narrative film, applied courses in non-fiction film and electronic media, film history and film studies, and cross-departmental electives, the Certificate expands students’ understanding of historical, cultural, and political contexts, and of informational, entertainment, and persuasive uses of media. It provides solid grounding for continued education at a 4-year university.

With completion of this Certificate, possible entry-level employment opportunities include: Broadcast Journalist, Video Writer/Producer for cultural, educational, informational, and commercial applications, Computer App Writer/Producer, Advertising Copywriter, Website Narrative Writer/Designer, Content Developer, Documentarian, Screenwriter, Independent Filmmaker, Game Writer/Designer, and Story Editor.

The Pre-Production/Producing certificate prepares students in the planning and the business of the production of motion pictures including inter-disciplinary instruction in Cinema production, pre-production and basic business offerings. The curriculum examines the narrative and provides real-world skills such as evaluating cost, budgeting and marketing in order to complete a film or commercial project. Students who complete this certificate are prepared for entry-level positions in a producer’s office in positions such as Assistant Production Office Coordinator, Travel Coordinator, or Transportation Dispatcher.
