The Process Technology Program is designed to provide students with skills necessary to succeed in the chemical and refining industries. The Process Technology Program is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to succeed in the chemical and refining industries. Program Learning Outcomes

1. Be academically and experientially prepared to obtain an entry-level position in the chemical, refining, oil and gas production, water, waste management, food, and related manufacturing industries.

2. Apply critical thinking to research, evaluate, analyze and synthesize information to solve problems related to process equipment, instruments, systems, and operations within the chemical, refining, oil and gas production, water, waste management, food, and related manufacturing industries.

3. Demonstrate excellent communications skills (oral and written) to ensure optimal communication with shift co-workers, first-line supervisors, maintenance personnel, safety personnel, contractors, and other members of the manufacturing site team.

4. Demonstrate knowledge of the process technology and apply the technical skills necessary to operate complex process equipment and systems such as distillation, fired boiler, refrigeration, cooling tower, reactor, and similar unit operations.

This certificate prepares students with comprehensive instruction in the skills necessary for success as an emergency medical technician (EMT) in the emergency services industry. This program is designed to meet the needs of current students and in‐service professionals interested in career advancement and those seeking to advance their EMT knowledge. This program is aligned with the EMT‐Basic: National Standard Curriculum. Career opportunities after completing the certificate include EMT, Emergency Room Technician, and Search and Rescue.

The Certificate of Achievement in Artificial Intelligence is designed to provide students with knowledge and skills required for a variety of entry level positions in the field of Artificial Intelligence. The program includes foundation courses in introduction to Artificial Intelligence, data analysis, machine learning, and deep learning.

The Advanced Virtual Production Certificate of Achievement, presented in collaboration with the Regional Virtual Production Academy (RPVA), is designed to equip students with the essential skills for pursuing entry-level careers in virtual production. Within this program, students will focus on a specific segment of the production pipeline and apply a comprehensive set of skills encompassing film production, computer graphics, visual effects, and game engines within real-time processes. Students are afforded the flexibility to choose courses from participating colleges in order to fulfill the requirements for this certificate. Completion of Virtual Production Fundamental Certificate is recommended for the Advanced Virtual Production Certificate of Achievement or have prior learning/experience.

The Certificate of Proficiency in English as a Second Language serves students who are non-native speakers of English. The program prepares students of all ages and backgrounds who want to improve English to earn a college degree, improve their employment opportunities, and participate in their local communities. The program provides students with the skills needed to achieve their academic, career, and lifelong-learning goals. The certificate is earned upon completion of the advanced level courses in English as a Second Language.

They learn how to record music, dialogue, and sound effects; edit, dub, and mix; operate and maintain equipment; and more. Technology is constantly changing and, here at LMC, we’re up on the latest industry standards to help you succeed in the career of your dreams. There are many opportunities for the trained recording arts professional in the fields of producing, sound reinforcement, independent audio engineering, mastering, video game creation, film and television sound, radio broadcast, forensic audio, hardware and software development, equipment maintenance and repair, bio-acoustic research, theatre sound, and many more.

It is extremely important to recognize that the industry has undergone a major paradigm shift in recent years. “Studio jobs” continue to exist, but due to the reduction in the need for large numbers of major studios, they are extremely scarce. The current model calls for entrepreneurs and independent contractors, trained to operate in a more “freelance” environment. Digital technology and distribution via the Internet has shifted emphasis away from large record labels to independents who handle their own content and distribution, primarily by download.

The Recording Arts Program at LMC is the finest of its kind in the U.S.A. Curriculum is designed in cooperation with audio engineers, producers, and other recording arts professionals.
