Focusing on the ways that businesses operate and what it takes to succeed as a manager, the program covers such areas as management, marketing, law, accounting, economics, and the global environment. To earn an Associate Degree students must complete: (1) all major course requirements with a grade of C or better; (2) Cypress College Native General Education requirements; California State University General Education Breadth requirements (CSU GE Breadth) or IGETC General Education requirements; (3) the Social Justice, Equity and Sustainability and reading requirements; (4) any elective courses to complete a minimum of 60 units; and, (5) have a minimum GPA of 2.0. Public Health Associate in Science Degree for Transfer

The Public Health Science Associate in Science Degree for Transfer is designed to provide an opportunity for the Public Health major to achieve an Associate in Science in Public Health for Transfer (AS-T in Public Health) which completes the first and second year requirements for transfer to a four-year public California institution. While at least a baccalaureate degree is recommended preparation for those considering professional careers, completion of this curriculum will demonstrate commitment to the field and provide comprehensive preparation for further academic study through upper-division course work. This curriculum specifically prepares the prospective transfer student for upper division coursework in Public Health or a similar major at a California State University (CSU) campus. Students should consult a counselor, the Transfer Center and the catalog of the transfer college or university to plan a specific program of study to meet the college or university's requirements. Note: Courses that fulfill major requirements for an Associate Degree for Transfer at Cypress College might not be the same as those required for completing the major at all transfer institutions offering a Baccalaureate Degree. The Student Transfer Achievement Reform Act (Senate Bill 1440, now codified in California Education Code sections 66746-66749) guarantees admission to a California State University (CSU) campus for any community college student who completes an "associate degree for transfer", a newly established variation of the associate degrees traditionally offered at a California community college. The AS-T is intended for students who plan to complete a bachelor's degree in a similar major at a CSU campus. Students completing these degrees (AS-T) are guaranteed admission to the CSU system, but not to a particular campus or major. Students transferring to a CSU campus that does accept the AS-T will be required to complete no more than 60 units after transfer to earn a bachelor's degree (unless the major is designated "high-unit" major). This degree may not be the best option for students intending to transfer to a particular CSU campus or to a university or college that is not part of the CSU system. Students should consult with a counselor when planning to complete the degree for more information on university admission and transfer requirements. Students with a degree in Public Health may pursue careers in a variety of health-related professions with employment opportunities in private, state, federal, corporate, and non-profit sector. The completion of this curriculum will demonstrate commitment to the field and provide comprehensive preparation for upper-division work. To earn an AS-T in Public Health students must complete the following requirements: (1) 24 to 25 semester units or 36 to 37 quarter units in the Public Health major, (2) earn a grade of C or better in all courses required for the major or area of emphasis, AP(Pass) grade is an acceptable grade for a course in the major only if the P is defined to be equivalent to a C or better (3) the California State University General Education Breadth requirements (CSU GE-Breadth) or the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) pattern, (4) 60 semester or 90 quarter CSU-transferable units, and (5) obtainment of a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0. This degree requires a total of 24-25 units.

The Integrative Health and Wellness Studies Associate in Science Degree is an interdisciplinary approach to the study of health. Health is defined as a state of physical, psychological, social, and spiritual wellbeing. Furthermore, health is defined as a state of wholeness, of being whole, and in this respect, we approach the study of health from a perspective of what is holy, and sacred. In approaching a vitalist, and holistic definition of health, we will comprehensively consider sleep, movement, nutrition, resiliency, mind-body practices, our connection to nature, and environment, that allow for the emergence of a whole person perspective of human flourishing and health. Associate of Science Degree in Apprenticeship Carpentry, Pile Driver

The Associate of Science degree in Apprenticeship Carpentry, Pile Driver is designed to provide the required related and supplemental classroom instruction in the technical skills and knowledge required in the trade.  Pile drivers work with pile-driving rigs--those big machines that look like cranes, but shake the ground as they drive metal, concrete or wood piling into the earth during the early stages of construction. Usually, pile drivers are the first workers at the construction site. They drive metal sheet piling to hold back the dirt during excavations. They drive concrete and metal piling as part of the foundation system upon which skyscrapers are built, and they drive wood and concrete piling to hold up docks, wharfs and bridges. In some cases they work on off-shore oil rigs and as commercial divers involved in underwater construction. Pile drivers are also required to install heavy timbers and weld or cut large metal beams. The Associate of Science degree in Apprenticeship Carpentry Millwrighting provide the required related and supplemental classroom instruction in the technical skills and knowledge required in the trade for state-indentured apprentices. The work of the Millwright involves installing conveyor systems, escalators, gas and steam turbines, and generators. Millwrights install and do maintenance on machinery in factories and do much of the precision work in nuclear power plants. Skilled construction Millwright mechanics study and interpret prints or working drawings, and then apply their knowledge and expertise to move, assemble, and erect machinery and rotating equipment. A P(Pass) grade is an acceptable grade for a course in the major only if the P is defined to be equivalent to a C or better (3) the California State University General Education Breadth requirements (CSU GE-Breadth) or the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) pattern, (4) 60 semester or 90 quarter CSU-transferable units, and (5) obtainment of a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0.
