Youth@Work builds on the Earn and Learn model by pairing paid work experience with a comprehensive and strategic set of employment, training and support services provided through a network of America’s Job Centers of California (AJCCs).
Includes 20 hours of paid Personal Enrichment Training in a classroom setting that prepares youth with fundamental skills- Life Skills, Financial Literacy, Career Exploration, Work Ethics and Goal Setting- essential for success in the 21st Century workplace. The remaining 100 hours of paid work experience occur at a worksite in a public, non-profit, or private organization that is part of a high-growth, in-demand industry sector. Upon completion, each youth is assessed for the need of additional levels of service.
