The Internship program is designed to help students gain tangible and meaningful experience in marketing, fundraising, and communications in nonprofits or cultural institutions. The intern will work with Filoli’s Marketing team to help plan Filoli’s social media communications, design digital communications and advertising, and analyze the resulting data. The External Relations Intern will gain experience working with a donor and member database, donor relations, and crafting communications. 

The goal for the External Relations Intern is to leave the program with new skills and an introduction to the various aspects of marketing and fundraising at a nonprofit. Upon completing the program, interns will have gained experience in: crafting compelling donor communications and social media posts; tracking performance metrics for advertising and social media; event planning; donor and sponsor relations strategies; and using photo, video, and data management software (Altru and Blackbaud).
