This certificate meets the requirements for the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Child Development Associate Teacher Permit. There are no English or mathematics proficiency requirements for this certificate.

The Child Development Program is an academic and vocational training program that prepares students for future work as early childhood educators in diverse early childhood settings. Courses and certificates are designed to meet entry-level requirements for the level of work chosen and/or meet the requirements needed to obtain a California Child Development Permit to become an Assistant Teacher, Associate Teacher, Teacher, Master Teacher, and/or Site Supervisor in state-licensed, publicly funded, center-based child care and development programs. Students planning to transfer to a four-year university as a child development or related major may be able to apply some child development units toward the lower division major preparation requirements or qualify for the AS-T in Early Childhood Education. Students wishing to pursue careers in related fields such as human development, child psychology, social work, and primary education should see a counselor to determine the transfer requirements of specific four-year universities.

Non-destructive testing (NDT) is essential to companies in the shipping, construction, oil and gas, petrochemical, nuclear, automotive, and aerospace industries, and others, to keep their end users safe from using their goods, to lower production costs, and to main a uniform quality level for their products. It helps prevent catastrophic failures like pipe leaks, airplanes crashes, nuclear reactor failure, and ships sinking. Foothill College, serving as a local education agency to the American Aerospace Technical Academy (AATA), offers the Certificate of Achievement in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician. Students will learn to use a variety of testing techniques—such as magnetic particle (MT), liquid penetrant (PT), ultrasonic (UT), phased array ultrasonic (PAUT), radiographic (RT), and digital radiography (DR)—to perform non-destructive tests, to identify defects, and to examine the physical properties of materials and components to detect corrosion, cracks, voids, and flaws. Students will be trained in non-film radiography and radiation safety with a foundation in NDT math. Per California Code of Regulations, this course is limited to students admitted to the AATA's Apprenticeship Program.

This certificate program prepares students for Level I and II NDT Certification. The certificate program will provide opportunities for students to secure a career in aerospace, construction, offshore drilling, manufacturing, automotive, shipbuilding, oil and gas, refineries, or any industry that uses NDT.

The accounting curriculum focuses on preparing students to transfer to four-year institutions, sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam and seek employment. Areas of study include accounting for decision-making, accounting for internal and external use, financial statement analysis, review of financial accounting standards, payroll and business taxes, individual and advanced taxation, computerized accounting software, auditing and forensic accounting, governmental and not-for-profit accounting and ethics in accounting.

Advancement includes opportunities as a senior accountant, controller, treasurer, and chief financial officer. The undergraduate Behavior Analysis Certificate qualifies students for positions requiring the application of behavior analysis in educational settings and health and human service agencies. Specialized coursework is taken concurrently with established degree requirements. Courses for the Certificate program are applicable toward course requirements for the major.

Political Science, or Government, is devoted to study of the theory and practice of government and politics. The Political Science Department at Sacramento State offers courses in several fields of study, including: Political Theory; American Politics; Public Law; International Relations; Comparative Politics; and Public Policy. Over 70 courses cover all the major aspects of political science. Lower division courses satisfy General Education requirements and help to prepare students for advanced work.
