The Geospatial Technologies Certificate provides a comprehensive introduction to contemporary methods and techniques used in GIS and other geospatial technologies to better understand, analyze, and communicate spatial data. The program is designed to prepare students with foundational knowledge and practical skills to employ geospatial technologies to understand spatial problems and inform decision-making in various fields including: urban planning; law enforcement; firefighting; disaster preparedness and response; politics and government; medicine and disease control; environmental quality, protection, and land management; business; media, marketing, and communications; archeology; anthropology; geography; and more. A grade of C or better is required for each course taken and at least 50% of the courses taken at Fullerton College. The Geospatial Technologies Certificate requires a total of 15 units.

Forensic Technician Certificate

The Forensic Technician Certificate will prepare a student to work in entry-level positions in biotech and forensic science-related industries. This program is focused on practical laboratory skills with training in a working laboratory setting that specializes in the forensic area. Employment opportunities include: forensic labs, biomedical industry, academic research labs, pharmaceutical industry, agriculture and food science labs. The Forensic Technician Certificate requires 23.5 units in required courses, with a grade of C or better in each course. Completion of CHEM 101 F or CHEM 107 F can be satisfied by achieving a passing score on the Chemistry Proficiency Examination (please contact the Natural Sciences Division Dean for further details).

Electro-Mechanical Technician Certificate

The Electro-Mechanical Technician Certificate is designed to provide fundamental, hands-on training on industrial systems and equipment. Students will study the basic principles, applications, concepts and functions of electro-mechanical processes associated with new or modify electrical or mechanical parts for products, such as industrial machinery or equipment from various industries such as petroleum, aerospace, aircraft, medical, bio-medical, autonomous systems, robotics, ocean exploration, or waste reclamation and removal. Typical duties of an electro-mechanical technician may include operation, testing, maintaining, or calibrating tools, equipment, automated systems, servo-mechanical, or electro-mechanical equipment. This certificate requires a total of 32-34 units. A minimum grade of C is required in each course taken. At least one half of the units toward the certificate must be completed at Fullerton College.

California State University General Education Certificate of Achievement

A certificate of achievement will be granted to students who complete a minimum of 39 units from areas A through E of the CSU general education requirements. CSU GE requirements are designed to be taken within a major area of concentration and elective courses in preparation for transfer to the California State University.*


To receive this Certificate of Achievement, students should:

๐Ÿ—ธ Review the CSU GE Breadth pattern sheet in this catalog or available from the Counseling Center,

๐Ÿ—ธ Consult with a counselor to ensure students understand and are following all requirements.

๐Ÿ—ธ Receive a grade of C- or better in classes taken in Areas A1, A2, A3 and B4.

๐Ÿ—ธ Verify through their counselor and www.assist.org that classes taken are approved for CSU GE the semester they are taken.

๐Ÿ—ธ Complete at least 3 units in residency at Fullerton College.


Note: Students who receive the CSU GE Certificate of Achievement do not need to request separate GE Certification; it will automatically granted and indicated on their transcript if all requirements are met. Note: Completion of the CSU GE Breadth requirements alone is not enough to make students eligible for admission to a CSU. *Following the CSU GE pattern may not always be the best option for students, especially those transferring to highly impacted majors in the CSU system. Please consult with a counselor for details on completing all transfer admission requirements or using course work from other institutions.


The California State University General Education (CSU GE Breadth) Certificate of Achievement allows the student to complete Certification of General Education Requirements for the California State University (CSU) system. To meet general education requirements and obtain certification, students must complete the pattern of courses in the categories listed. Certification is not automatic. Students must apply for GE certification through the Admissions and Records Office by the published deadline during the semester in which requirements will be completed or thereafter. The course must be on the current CSU GE-Breadth list when it is taken in order to be used to meet a requirement. Students should refer to the Fullerton College CSU GE-Breadth Certification List on www.assist.org to verify that a course was valid during the semester when it was taken. A course or sequence of courses used to satisfy a requirement in one area may not be used to satisfy a requirement in another area. Some universities will not allow students to count courses in their major field as part of general education. Students should check with a counselor and review the university catalog for further clarification. This certificate requires 40-55 units in courses from the areas listed below.

This Automotive Service Management Certificate is designed to provide the student with entry level employment skills needed in the area of automotive service management. A student can seek employment as a service consultant, service manager, or service department dispatcher at new car dealerships, specialty repair shops, franchise automotive repair facilities, or as a sole proprietor. The course work will develop a studentโ€™s understanding of the major automotive systems and thereby enhance their ability to communicate repair recommendations to customers. The proper calculations of repair costs and the management of industry recognized documents associated with vehicle repairs will be covered in the required courses. This certificate requires a total of 34.5-41.5 units. A grade of C or better is required for each course taken.
