The Stage Management Certificate is designed to provide the student with enhanced occupational competency as a Stage Manager for theatrical and dance productions, corporate events, theme parks, television, and film studios. This advanced certificate requires completion of the Assistant Stage Management Certificate (19.5-24.5 units) plus additional advanced courses for a total of 36-49.5 units. At least one-half of the units toward the certificate must be completed at Fullerton College. All courses must be completed with a grade of C or better.

Stage and Screen Combat Level 1 Certificate

The Stage and Screen Combat Level 1 Certificate is designed to prepare the student for entry-level performance competency and employment in the field of stage combat and stunts, with specific areas of employment in regional theatre, television, film, theme parks and education. Students will integrate voice, mind, and body techniques toward character development, train and employ a variety of techniques specific to armed and unarmed staged violence, integrate choreography into the context of scripted scene work, and be adjudicated for proficiency and recognition by an internationally recognized organization (Society of American Fight Directors). This certificate requires a total of 18.5-22.5 units.

Sports Broadcasting Certificate

The Sports Broadcasting Certificate prepares students for entry-level positions in radio, television, internet or cable television sports broadcasting. Students learn how to do play-by-play, color reporting, cover games by remote broadcasts on KBPK and on audio and internet streams. The Sports Broadcasting Certificate requires a total of 19 units of which 16 units are in required courses. An additional 3 units must be chosen from the restricted units listed below. A minimum grade of "C" is required in each course taken.

Students will study various means of computer-assisted digital audio production including sequencing, digital recording, recording studio techniques, mixdown, and synchronization to video. The business of music as well as current and emerging technologies, such as video game music and sound design will also be covered. A variety of music electives are available to help students gain experience in other musical skills including instruction on an instrument, ensemble playing, and music theory.

The certificate of achievement in medical assistant administrative/clinical is designed to prepare a student for employment in a medical office, hospital business office, ambulatory clinic, or allied health facility. Allied health careers for medical assistants function in the front and back office, as health insurance specialists, admission representatives, medical records specialists and receptionists in all medical facilities.
