This certificate program provides students with the basic skills needed for an entry-level career in Drone Photography and Videography. The program courses provide an overview of Drone skills and careers. Topics covered include hands-on and virtual flight activities to develop, practice, and optimize UAV (Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle) flight and photography skills with high-end photo equipment, drones, and drone simulators. The program courses include hands-on and technical skills in media management, and image editing for drone operators and focus on developing drone careers in digital media, capturing and editing images for a variety of industries across multiple sectors.

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

✔ Integrate advanced drone operation with digital media management skills to create, edit, and optimize aerial photography and videography across multiple sectors. Leveraging high-end equipment and software such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere, students will apply image and video editing techniques. Furthermore, students will exhibit foundational knowledge of FAA regulations pertinent to Unmanned Aircraft Systems, ensuring responsible and lawful media capture.

The Digital Media Production program provides the skills necessary to effectively use design principles to create vector and raster-based digital drawings, photo editing, illustration and layout design for multiple-page documents. Emphasis is placed on the development of a portfolio for employment and/or advancement. The program will prepare students for further study and/or entry-level positions in print, graphic design, digital media, animation, gaming graphics, motion graphics, web design graphics, and other related occupations.

Completion of the Digital Media Design Certificate will prepare students for entry-level positions in print, graphic design, digital media, animation/gaming graphics, web design graphics, digital media business basics and/or other related occupations. Students will establish a strong foundation in both the technical and creative aspects of the digital media industry.

The program will emphasize creativity, design skills, digital portfolios, project management, business basics, problem-solving, global teamwork, and entrepreneurship options.

The Athletic Training Certificate at Orange Coast College provides an educational and practical foundation for students interested in:

Athletic Training Level 2 is designed to meet the growing need for qualified professionals in these fields. The Athletic Training Level 2 Certificate objective is to further prepare students for immediate entry and/or transfer into the allied healthcare fields and athletic training and pre-physical therapy majors at receiving universities. The required courses are a cross-section of required courses in nearby accredited athletic training and physical therapy programs. The required courses for this certificate emphasize rehabilitation, orthopedic assessment, components of fitness and wellness and how they relate to the rehabilitation of injuries, and the standards for medical documentation and medical terminology.

✓ Students will have the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to be well-qualified applicants for undergraduate and graduate athletic training programs.

✓ Students will have the training and skills to function in a variety of employment opportunities including athletic training, physical therapy aide, physical therapy assistant and physical therapist.

This certificate will prepare students for a career in the areas of web design, user interface design, and user experience design. Students will learn design and technical skills applied to layout, aesthetics, functionality, user ability, and organization of websites and mobile apps. Industry preferred software for web design and mobile app creation will be used as well as hand coding methods.

The Athletic Training Certificate provides an educational and practical foundation for students interested in athletic training, physical therapy, physical therapy assistant and physical therapy aide. The Athletic Training Certificate objective is to enable students to develop a strong foundation in the Kinesiology and athletic training. The theoretical knowledge, laboratory, and clinical experience skills acquired by students in this program will also enhance their general understanding in the fitness and physical therapy industry. The required courses are a cross section of required courses in nearby athletic training curricula.

Since curriculum requirements may vary amongst institutions, it is imperative that students entering OCC’s certificate in Athletic Training meet with a counselor at the start of their academic career.

This program provides students with a solid foundation in the specialized area of cyber investigations techniques in the field of cybersecurity. The program is designed to prepare students for entry-level cyber jobs or advancement into mid-level cyber careers, such as Cyber Crime Analyst, Cyber Incident Analyst, Cyber Incident Responder, Digital Forensics Examiner, Digital Forensics Technician, and Vulnerability Analyst. Topics covered include planning and scoping a cyber incident, domestic and international cyber laws, cyber ethics, chain of custody, incident detection and analysis, anti-forensic techniques, timeline analysis, incident containment, eradication, recovery, report preparation, and expert testimony. The courses emphasize development of in-demand technical skills and technical writing to help students prepare for the cybersecurity workforce.
