Designed to provide M.A. English candidates additional opportunities for professional development, the Certificate in Writing and Teaching further enhances students’ preparation for careers in teaching, publishing or advanced graduate study. Students seeking admission to the program must have a Bachelor’s degree and be enrolled in a graduate program at CSUF.

The Certificate in Translation program provides students with training and skills in the theory and practice of translation from Spanish to English and English to Spanish. Recipients of the certificate will have demonstrated their knowledge and capabilities in the translation of cultural, commercial, financial, legal, literary, medical, political, scientific and technical texts.

All courses must be passed with a “C” (2.0) or better.

The Certificate In Instructional Design Level 2 is for those interested in learning the basics of instructional design to improve their chances of career advancement or seek a new career, but do not want or need to pursue a master’s degree. The program expands on the conceptual framework, curriculum and instructional focus in Level 1, with the addition of a technology component, and design skills and knowledge.

The Certificate in Instructional Design Level 1 is for those interested in learning the basics of instructional design to improve their chances of career advancement or seek a new career, but do not want or need to pursue a master’s degree. All courses are transferrable to the CSUF MSIDT program.

The Artist Diploma is for students who have completed either an undergraduate or graduate degree in music, and is designed to produce musicians capable of entering and sustaining careers in the work force as professional musicians.

The Professional Certificate in Human Resources Management is designed to respond to the increased demand in the labor market in California, which employs the most HR professionals in the country. The certificate promotes professionalism and effectiveness in the management of human resources in business organizations and trains students in concepts, such as managing human behavior in the workplace (including addressing issues of diversity), human resources management systems and organization development.

The Dual Language Learning Certificate is designed for educators committed to justice and equity in Dual Language/Bilingual – Spanish & English settings. We engage in cutting-edge interdisciplinary research, critical educational theories, and practical applications across PK-12 content areas. Develop expertise in translanguaging and multilingualism through frameworks related to power and resistance, intersectionality, critical pedagogies, educational justice, ethnic studies, and critical literacies. All courses will be conducted in Spanish.

The Graduate Certificate in Social Research is designed to qualify recipients to supervise researchers in all phases of research projects from the initial conceptualization to the final report writing. To obtain the certificate, candidates must demonstrate their competence to teach and supervise researchers in conceptualization, research design, sampling design, data collection, data analysis and report writing. Note: The student in the certificate program must meet the admission requirements for the Sociology Master's Degree Program and must maintain a 3.0 ("B") average.

The Undergraduate Certificate in Social Research is designed to qualify recipients to participate fully in all phases of research projects from the initial conceptualization to the final report writing. To qualify for the certificate candidates must demonstrate their competence in conceptualization, research design, sampling design, instrument design, data collection, data analysis and report writing. This program is open to non-sociology majors.
