The Certificate of Achievement can be obtained upon completion of the 31-31.5-unit major. The Associate in Science can be obtained by completing the 31-31.5-unit major, General Education, and electives as needed to complete a minimum of 60 units. All courses in the major must be completed with a minimum grade of C or a P if the course is taken on a Pass/ No Pass basis.

To earn a certificate of achievement, students must complete each course used to meet a certificate requirement with a โ€œCโ€ grade or higher. Required courses are available in the evening and during the day.

The California State University Certificate of Achievement is appropriate for students planning to transfer to a campus in the California State University system. Following this pattern of CSU requirements, will permit students to transfer from Napa Valley College to a California State University (CSU) campus without the need, after transfer, to take additional lower division, general education courses to satisfy general education requirements. A minimum of 39 total units is required and for each area a specific number of units must be completed. Courses may be listed in more than one area, but shall not be counted in more than one area, unless otherwise noted.
