The Computer Studies: IT Support Certificate of Achievement is designed to allow a student to complete a certificate program and enter the workforce as an entry-level help desk technician.

The Computer Studies: IT Support certification exposes students to skills and knowledge necessary to support end users who run Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Of primary importance for the IT support technician is the development of Soft Skills. These interpersonal competencies are fostered to enable the IT Support technician to successfully communicate in both written and verbal forms as well as utilize techniques in conflict management.

IT support technicians will gain valuable experience in the CS 99I Computer Studies Occupational Work Experience Intern program. This experience provides the necessary hands-on training and skill development for the professional IT Support technician.

The Computer Studies: Cisco Networking Certification Training in CCNA Skills Certificate is a comprehensive e-learning program, which provides students with the Internet technology skills essential in a global economy. The program delivers Web-based content, online assessment, student performance tracking, hands-on labs, instructor training and support, and preparation for industry-standard certifications. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), a 280-hour curriculum, is the first step in a Cisco career certification path. Particular emphasis is given to using decision-making and problem-solving techniques in the application of science, mathematics, communication and social studies concepts to solve networking problems. Students will learn how to install and configure Cisco switches and routers in multiprotocol networks using local- and wide-area networks (LANs and WANs), provide Level 1 troubleshooting service, and improve network performance and security.

Network Administrators, consultants and help desk support personal, benefit from this series of classes. These jobs are proving to be more immune to overseas outsourcing than other IT professions and demand for proficient workers is fairly constant. The Computer Studies: Adobe Certification Training in InDesign Skills Certificate provides a course of study that will prepare the computer user to master skills needed to prepare desktop publishing projects using InDesign. Students will also be prepared to pass the Adobe InDesign industry certification test. Successful completion of the test will indicate a particular depth and breadth of desktop publishing skills and will enhance the recipient's value in the job market.

InDesign is one of the most widely used Desktop Publishing programs used by graphic designers, publishers and companies for production of catalogs, brochures, newsletters and other printed materials. The Civil Engineering Technology program prepares students for a variety of technical positions in the civil engineering and engineering construction professions. The program-recommended course sequence is set up to allow the student to progress through four semesters and achieve an Associate’s Degree or Certificate of Achievement.

The field attracts people with geology, surveying, computer science, and construction backgrounds, too.
