The Low-Intermediate English as a Second Language Certificate of Competency provides students with a foundation in the listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills necessary for success in credit ESL courses at the intermediate level. Students completing this program will be able to participate in conversations at a low-intermediate level, write simple and compound sentences and paragraphs about familiar topics, pronounce common words and phrases, and read and understand main ideas and details in short academic texts. The goal of this two-course program is to prepare students with the academic and language skills necessary to succeed in everyday situations in their personal, professional, and academic lives.

The Skyline College Certificate of Achievement in Cosmetology prepares students for licensing as a Cosmetologist. The Cosmetology program requires 1,000 hours of comprehensive training in all facets of the cosmetology industry.

Courses focus on theoretical foundation, practical manipulative skills, business knowledge, career development in the field, and the professional and ethical training needed for licensing through the California State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.

Prepared with excellent entry-level and some advanced skills, students are able to work in many facets of the beauty industry. Skyline College’s Cosmetology Program is approved

The Cosmetology program at Skyline College is a full-time, hybrid program designed to be completed in two semesters.

The Junior Developer pathway prepares students with a broad knowledge of computer science topics that will open opportunities in software development roles. Students will also receive training in different types of programming, object-oriented programming languages, and code development tools. This certificate focuses on practical applications, problem-solving, and programming in real world environments, which will create a portfolio of work for students to discuss in interview situations.

The goal of the Certificate of Achievement in IT Helpdesk technician is designed to provide students with knowledge and skills required for a variety of entry level positions in the field IT support. The program includes foundation courses that aligned with industry certificates and a wide range of skill-builder courses.
