Additionally, this degree exposes students to the core principles and practices of the study of history in order to build a foundation for their future personal, academic and professional paths.


The Associate in Arts in History for Transfer Degree (AA-T) is designed to provide a seamless transfer pathway for students interested in pursuing a History degree in the California State University (CSU) system. The required and elective coursework surveys a broad spectrum of physical geography, human geography, geospatial technologies (e.g. GIS, the Global Positioning System, remote sensing), and related disciplines. The degree is comprised of lower-division coursework typically required by CSU institutions. Students must complete a total of 60 transferable semester units with a minimum 2.0 GPA, to include either the California State University General Education Breadth pattern or the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum; students must also earn a grade of C or better in all the courses for the major as described in the Required Program.
