The Cloud Computing program prepares students to design solutions for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) architectures by provisioning computing instances, establishing virtual private networks, managing databases, and storage within a secure online environment. Students produce dynamic solutions responsive to information and computing technology workloads with on-demand pay-as-you-go pricing allowing flexibility for small business, entrepreneurship, and enterprise adoption. Industry certifications are Program Proposal Attributes embedded to prepare for occupations in Cloud Architect, Cloud Support Associate, Cloud Engineer, or Cloud Technicians. Some preparation in information technology or computer programming is recommended.

This Water and Wastewater Certificate of Achievement provides the relevant knowledge and skills required for entry-level employment or internship as an Operator In Training, Water or Wastewater Operator, Instrumentation Technician, Laboratory Technician, Maintenance, or other water and wastewater-related positions. The subjects are taught using a practical approach with an emphasis on water and wastewater procedures, standards, and other job-related skills.

Students receiving this certificate will have a better understanding of career choices, especially in STEM-oriented areas. It will give them the knowledge needed to make an informed decision about either embracing the pathways leading to academia and ultimately to an MS or Ph.D. in a STEM field.

This Advanced Manufacturing Level 1 Certificate of Achievement provides the relevant knowledge and skills required for entry-level employment or internship for manufacturing technicians and assemblers. The subjects are taught with an emphasis on job-related skills required by manufacturing industries, using a practical approach using procedures, and standards used in the manufacturing industry.

- Demonstrate competence in building, servicing, and testing circuits utilizing safe and industry-standard practices and procedures.

- Demonstrate how to assemble circuit boards, mechanical systems and electrical systems.

The paralegal profession is one of the fastest-growing job fields in the nation. Paralegals hold increasingly important and high-paying positions at large and small law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies, banks, real estate and insurance companies, nonprofit organizations, Silicon Valley startups, and freelance paralegal businesses. Evergreen Valley College’s Paralegal Studies Program prepares graduates to work as a “paralegal” or “legal assistant” under California law (Business and Professions Code Section 6450). The Paralegal Studies Certificate requires students to complete 24 units of classes, enabling graduates to comply with this law and enter the workforce as paralegals or legal assistants.

This Certificate of Achievement program is designed to develop the translation and interpreting skills necessary for service as a Vietnamese-English interpreter in public and private sectors, such as the courts, law firms, medical organizations, state agencies, public schools, and businesses. This program is specifically designed to prepare students to pass the State of California Court Interpreter Certification Exam and the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters Exam. Students must complete each course with a grade of “C” or better.

Minimum Requirements:

- Students must be fluent in English and Vietnamese and have a speaking proficiency equivalent to that of a native speaker.

- Students are required to take a bilingual proficiency assessment.

- Students should have completed at least one term of college English.

- Students must submit a Translation & Interpreting application to the Language Arts Division Office.

- Students must attend an orientation.

The Online Teaching and Educational Technology certificate are designed for both experienced trainers and educators and those interested in entering the field of online teaching and learning.

The Certificate of Achievement in Dance is an opportunity for students to grow and develop in the area of Dance. The certificate includes a lecture class as well as various genres and levels of dance techniques. Students will learn both the Beginning and Intermediate skills of Modern, Jazz and Social (Ballroom) dance techniques. Focus will be on foundation, form, alignment, flexibility, technique, body awareness, phrasing, musicality, loco-motor patterns of movement, choreography and performance in each of the styles. Students will also learn about the background and history of Dance by taking Dance Appreciation. This Certificate will enhance the student's knowledge in history while simultaneously giving practical experience and guidance to the dancer. The Dance Certificate of Achievement course of study recommends a basic level or foundation of modern and jazz dance techniques prior to enrolling in the program. A grade of "C" or better in each course is required to receive the certificate.

The Certificate of Achievement in Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) is a program that provides students with the option of fulfilling all lower division general education requirements for transferring to the California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) systems.  

Students who intend to transfer must meet all current IGETC lower division general education transfer requirements including minimum GPA to achieve the Certificate of Achievement. Students may also request certification of general education upon completion of this Certificate of Achievement.   The Certificate of Achievement will appear on the student’s transcripts, but the certification is a separate request that must be filled out by a counselor and is the student’s responsibility to submit to their transfer institution. Students are firmly advised to meet with a counselor to discuss transfer requirements and lower division major preparation that is needed for their intended transfer university.

Although the certificate recognizes the completion of IGETC lower division general education requirements, it does not guarantee admission to a specific campus within the CSU or UC system nor does it guarantee admission to a specific major.  Some majors and colleges may require a different lower division preparation and/or a higher GPA than is necessary for this certificate.   A grade of “C” or better is required in all courses.
