The Certificate of Achievement in CSU GE-Breadth is a program that provides students with the option of fulfilling all lower-division general education requirements before transferring to the California State University (CSU) system.

Students who intend to transfer must meet all current lower division CSU GE-Breadth requirements including minimum GPA. Students may also request certification of their general education upon completion of this Certificate of Achievement. The Certificate of Achievement will appear on the student’s transcripts, but the certification is a separate request. It is the student’s responsibility to submit it to their transfer institution. Students are firmly advised to meet with a counselor to discuss transfer requirements and lower division major preparation that is needed for their intended transfer university.

Although the certificate recognizes the completion of lower division CSU GE-Breadth requirements, it does not guarantee admission to a specific campus within the CSU system nor does it guarantee admission to a specific major.  Some majors and colleges may require a different lower division preparation and/or a higher GPA than is necessary for this certificate.  A grade of “C” or better is required in all courses.

The Computer Programming Certificate is designed to provide students with skills in computer programming to enable graduates in gaining employment as entry-level programmers. Courses will emphasize skills on how to organize a computer program, and how to program in several different languages such as Python and Java.  A minimum of 6 units at EVC must be completed within the certificate.

- Demonstrate the ability to apply data requirements, algorithmic principles, and software development practice in the modeling and design of computer-based systems in a way that proves comprehension of the tradeoffs involved in design choices.

The chemistry certificate program grants students a certificate acknowledgment that they have successfully completed a set of required general chemistry and organic chemistry courses with labs.  It is designed to provide potential employers with proof that the students have the core competency to begin work in chemistry at the entry-level.  In addition to the lecture component where knowledge in chemistry will be mastered, all courses include labs that would provide students with the hands-on skills and experience gained from doing experiments involving different techniques.  Completion of the certificate program requires that the student successfully complete CHEM 012A and CHEM 012B at Evergreen Valley College. A grade of "C" or better in each course is required to receive the certificate of achievement.

- Perform basic and complex calculations related to the preparation of solutions, as well as the skills to prepare chemical solutions.

- Follow experimental protocols involving the uses of standard and analytical equipment, materials, and techniques employed in general, organic and analytical chemistry laboratories.

- Function independently or with a team on experimental lab assignments that involve scientific methods.

The Medical Assistant-Front Office certificate program requires a total of 22 units. Students will learn medical terminology, coding, and billing. Courses in communications, technology, and business are also part of the program.  An internship is included to provide practical experience in the healthcare environment. After completion of the program, students can apply for positions such as medical biller, patient specialist, or office assistant.

This program is designed for students who wish to broaden their background in business.  Students are introduced to various business areas.  The program provides choices for students who wish to further pursue a specific area in business. Students must complete each course with a grade of ‘C’ or better to be awarded the certificate.

This program is designed for students who wish to enhance their computer knowledge and skills, communications, and professionalism.  Practical application of skills is emphasized. Students must complete each course with a grade of ‘C’ or better to be awarded the certificate.

The Entrepreneurship Program will offer students the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to start and operate a business in an urban environment. This program will acquaint students with an array of business models that can be used for new start-ups, as well as acquaint them with how to acquire the resources they will need to succeed in the form of a sole proprietorship, partnership, or corporate entity. Certificates will be awarded to those who complete all of the units with a ‘C’ or better.

The BIM Program will offer students the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to be BIM Specialists and consultants in the construction industry in both the public and private sectors. This program will acquaint students with the various BIM software and technologies that are being used throughout the construction industry. Certificates will be awarded to those who complete all of the units with a ‘C’ or better.

- Compare and contrast the workflow changes of the 20th and 21st-century construction industry

This course of study provides significant training and applicable skills development for future employment as Tesla electric vehicle service technicians. Topics include brakes, air conditioning, suspension, steering, high voltage electrical systems, and body chassis electrical systems. Students will demonstrate skills using classroom, lab, and on-the-job work experience diagnosing, repairing and servicing all-electric vehicles. Students must complete each course with a grade of “C” or better.

- Perform procedures using computer-based tools and applications, including diagnostic tools, wiring diagrams, service manuals, repair order documentation, and parts catalogs.

- Analyze and interpret the theories of electricity and apply scientific problem-solving skills to diagnosing and rectifying faults in electrical circuits.

The Automotive Certificate of Achievement is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in the automotive field as a light line or express service technician. The courses in this certificate program will introduce students to the tools and equipment used for repair and diagnostic work, as well as demonstrate how procedures for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems should be carried out. Students will also study the relationships of the Auto industry and the opportunities it presents. Students must complete each course with a “C” grade or better to be awarded the certificate.
