The Philosophy programs at Contra Costa College are designed to help students develop important work and life skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication, as well as explore fundamental questions like “how do I live a good life?”, “what is justice?”, and “who am I?” Guided by a commitment to multicultural philosophical education and the values of truth, integrity, diversity, and equity, these programs - the AA-T degree and Certificate of Achievement - consist of courses that cultivate a “love of wisdom” (the literal meaning of philosophy) and empower students for holistic success- in the classroom, workplace, community, and beyond.
A certificate of achievement may be earned by completing all the courses required for this major with a grade of C or better.
