The Introduction to UI/UX Design Certificate of Completion is a noncredit certificate designed to introduce students to digital media and user interface (UI)/user experience (UX) design for digital platforms. Students will gain experience in design, the production process, creative technology applications, industry-standard UI/UX prototyping, wire-framing tools, and online user test platforms. Upon completion, students will be able to continue on to the digital media degree and certificate pathways and will have the necessary tools to upskill as a web or digital interface designer. May be offered in a distance-learning format.

The Graphic Design Certificate of Achievement prepares students to create visual concepts and communicate ideas that inspire, inform, and captivate users. Students learn to use industry standard Adobe software as a tool to create visual solutions to a number of graphic design problems, focusing on the application of design principles and elements, typographic design, creative problem solving, and production practices to visually communicate messages and experiences. Students evaluate design work and explore graphic design within different contextual situations in order to develop successful visual communication solutions with a wide range of digital media.

The Digital Imaging Certificate of Achievement prepares students to develop creative design and illustrative imagery for editorial use, marketing, websites, business, and the arts using industry standard Adobe illustration and photo manipulation software. Students will gain skills required to create digital images for print, web, and screen media.

This certificate prepares students for entry-level career positions in digital imaging, graphic design production for opportunities in digital photo labs, newspaper photo departments, and graphic design employment. It provides the skills to increase value in current employment and marketability for students who may already be employed in these fields.

The Digital Illustration Certificate of Achievement provides the foundational skill sets to translate traditional and non-traditional concepts in digital media to create non-photographic illustrative content for print and digital purposes. Students learn how to work with basic illustrative digital tools such as vector, raster, and bitmap graphics. The certificate explores different techniques of modifying existing drawings and photo modification/manipulation for illustrative purposes. Students gain skills in project management, color-theory, content creation, and industry-standard software, such as Adobe.

The Professional Workplace Skills Certificate of Completion is a noncredit certificate designed to increase workforce readiness and provide students with soft skills for success in the workplace. Students will explore and apply employability skills in a professional setting and create a plan to manage challenges in the workplace.

The Foundations of Teamwork Certificate of Completion is a noncredit certificate designed to support students in identifying academic and professional skills that lead to college success and workforce preparation in a team or group setting. Skills explored include developing self-discipline, group communication, and working in teams with individuals of different learning/working styles. The program introduces self-management theory and skills for effective goal setting and explores personal behaviors, such as follow through or resilience and persistence, which can facilitate success in college and workplace settings.  May be offered in a distance-learning format.

The Wine Studies Certificate of Achievement provides a strong foundation for students pursuing employment in the wine industry and wine-related roles in the restaurant and hospitality industries. The certificate emphasizes a multidisciplinary educational experience and includes hands-on experiences in vineyards and wineries as well as analytical wine tastings. Viticultural techniques explore include: how to prune vines, how to prepare a vineyard for the growing season, and practices that determine how the vineyard is managed during the year. Winemaking practices are demonstrated with visits to working wineries and a focus on the fundamentals of fermentation and aging with students gaining hands-on wine analysis experience.  Wine tasting classes focus on developing mastery of a systematic approach to wine tasting, awareness of individual thresholds, and the acquisition of the sensory skills required to assess wine quality and style.

The Global Wines Certificate of Completion is a noncredit certificate designed to train and upskill students working in the fields of wine business as a wine steward/sommelier, wholesale and retail buyer, and/or food service professional. The certificate covers wine regions, wine history, and wine laws for the wine producing countries of France, Italy, Spain and the state of California. Using sensory analysis students will calibrate the Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT) rubric for assessment of wine including: quality, style, drinkability, potential for aging, quality for value, and market position. Upon completion, students will have a current and in depth understanding of the wine industry in each country. The certificate requires no prerequisite skills but does have an 18 years or older age requirement. Students may repeat the courses in the certificate, as needed, to update to current industry standards; however, only one Certificate of Completion will be granted per student.

The Food Presentation and Photography Certificate of Completion is a noncredit certificate designed to prepare students for working with food presentation in catering, front case displays, and online marketing. Students will learn techniques of plating various dishes and techniques for photographing products such as desserts, food displays, or beverages with a smartphone or introductory camera. Students will be able to apply for jobs in the catering and restaurant industry with display technique skills and photographs ready for social media marketing listed on their resumes. May be offered in a distance-learning format.

The Public Safety Career Preparation Certificate of Completion is a noncredit certificate designed to prepare students to find and apply for public safety jobs. Outlines the various stages of the application and Oral Board processes. Provides opportunities to understand the importance of the Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ) and the Oral Boards in the public safety interview process. Upon completion students will be more prepared for working with the public in roles in emergency response, health and safety, and community policing. May be offered in a distance-learning format.
